What encryption is available in your version of SQL Server? This session will cover how to set up the Encryption Hierarchy and the requirements for the new Backup with Encryption in SQL 2014. We will also cover end to end Transparent Database Encryption (TDE). This session will go over all the steps and caveats that go with this technology. Encryption is here to stay so jump on and let's take it for a ride.


Ben Miller

Ben has been a member of the SQL Server Community since 2000. He is currently working at MaritzCX revolutionizing the SQL Server environment and loving it. He also consults on SQL Server problems. He is a SQL Server MVP a SQL Server MCM, and has spent time in the field using SQL Server since 1997. He has worked at various companies throughout the US, as well as at Microsoft for 7 years. He is passionate about SQL Server and automation and integration and uses SMO and PowerShell regularly. He teaches DBAs how to use PowerShell as well. Meeting Recordings

The DBA Virtual Chapter presentations are recorded. On the Meeting Archive page, you will find  .WMV files that can be viewed on-line. Select the event you are interested in, click the Show More button if it is visible, and the recording and any associated files will be visible.

Regular Meeting Schedule

The DBA Virtual Chapter holds two regular webinars each month. The first one is on the second Wednesday at noon, Mountain time and the second one is on the fourth Wednesday at noon, Eastern time. These 1 - 1¼ hour presentations include slides, demos and a time for questions and answers. The meetings are recorded and archived.
