In this session we explore new performance related features of SQL Server 2016 and show you how to leverage your existing or new hardware to maximize your performance. We will demo specific performance gains for query processing, maintenance jobs, and backups as you scale your OLTP workloads up and will give a demo with SQL Server 2016 tail of the log and HPE servers.

Maurice De Vidts

Maurice De Vidts is a performance Engineer with HP. At HP Mr. De Vidts works developing reference architectures and best practices for SQL databases deployed on HP Converged Systems, servers, and storage platforms. He received his B.S.E.E. from the University of Maryland and has been working with databases over 20 years. Prior to his 7 years working at HP, Mr. De Vidts worked as a database consultant and DBA in a number of industries including Energy, State and Federal government.

Regular Meeting Schedule

The DBA Virtual Group holds two regular webinars each month. The first one is on the second Wednesday at noon, Mountain time and the second one is on the fourth Wednesday at noon, Eastern time. These 1 - 1¼ hour presentations include slides, demos and a time for questions and answers. The meetings are recorded and archived.
